Mrs. Paisley Makes Fried Egg Sandwiches on Valentine's Day
layered archival pigment prints
5" x 7"
The cutout template for this piece shows two of my commonly used geometric shapes – the curvilinear paisley and the linear quadrilateral. When the Yin Yang symbol is pulled apart, one is left with two paisley shapes. These paisleys represent my husband and me. The quadrilateral shape symbolizes woodlands and trees and came from noticing how frequently that shape occurs when looking through intersecting tree branches. The lacework pattern comes from tiling the QR code for this website. The "fried egg" on magenta is a pattern made from a scan of an earlier stratum. Utilizes the Small Gifts template and three unique patterns.
