Experience


Karen works full-time as a Studio Artist and co-owner of Joseph Nease Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Duluth, MN. She mentors developing artists and teaches painting privately and in painting classes at the Duluth Art Institute and Grand Marais Art Colony. Before her art career, Karen provided design and project management services as an architect in multiple architectural, engineering, and materials design firms. She occasionally still helps friends with architectural and environmental design. Her artwork has been widely exhibited regionally in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is in numerous private, corporate, and museum collections.
